ARMA Jacksonville Board Member Michael DeVanna and IAPP KnowledgeNet Co-Chair Farrell Wilkerson will provide an overview of each association.

Michael DeVanna is the Enterprise Records Manager at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida.  He holds a Master’s Degree in Library Science from Simmons College in Boston and has been a Certified Records Manager since 2008.  Michael is proficient in the design and implementation of records management programs and systems.  Prior to his recent move to Jacksonville to implement a records management program at Florida Blue, Michael worked for Saudi Aramco in Saudi Arabia and in Houston, Texas.  He has also worked as records manager at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts in Boston; Old Dominion Electric Cooperative in Richmond, Virginia; Bose Corporation and the Christian Science Church headquarters in Boston.

Farrell Wilkerson is Senior Corporate Counsel at Availity, in Jacksonville, Florida, where she advises lines of business on general corporate matters, regulatory compliance issues, data privacy/security, intellectual property and licensing issues, HIPAA, governance, mergers and acquisitions, and employment law matters.  She has extensive experience negotiating and drafting sophisticated health information technology, healthcare, and commercial contracts, licenses, and transactions.  Her background also includes advising clients in the financial services, communication technologies, and pharmaceutical industries on technology transactions, IP, data privacy, regulatory matters, licensing agreements, vendor management, and other transaction-related matters.  Farrell is a Certified Information Privacy Professional for the United States (CIPP/US).  She earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, with a Certificate in Intellectual Property, and holds two Bachelors of Arts from the University of Florida.
